After completing his undergraduate studies at Middle East Technical University—during which he studied as an exchange student at the University of California, Berkeley for a year—and earning his master’s degree from Boğaziçi University, Dr. Oğuz Gençay received his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, in 2025. Following the completion of his doctoral education, he joined Bilkent University as an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior. His research investigates the drivers and inhibitors of prosocial behavior and performance in organizations and the development of related psychological interventions. His doctoral dissertation was recognized as a finalist in the 2024 INFORMS/Organization Science Best Dissertation Competition. Prior to his academic career, he held professional positions as a process analyst, senior developer, and business development manager in digital transformation functions.
