Research interests: Consumer Behavior, Charitable Giving, Sustainable Consumption
Hanife Armut is a visiting assistant professor of marketing at Bilkent University. Her research primarily focuses on charitable giving, examining how nonprofits’ intertemporal resource allocation decisions influence donations, the distinct motivations driving donation rates and amounts, and the impact of benefit framing on recurring giving. Additionally, she investigates the drivers of sustainable consumption and the effects of income inequality on social judgments. Her work has received an honor from AMS Review and grants from ACR and TUBITAK. She holds a PhD in Marketing from Koç University and B.A. and an M.A. in Economics from Boğaziçi University.
