I first became acquainted with Bilkent University’s Executive MBA Program when Faculty of Business Administration students presented the outcomes of their project work conducted at Esenboğa Airport. That day marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
Years later, I had the opportunity to become a student again. This time, however, the experience was even more enjoyable. Although we are referred to as participants in the program, we are truly students—and in many ways, we still are. We will be graduating in just a few months.
Our journey began with an unforgettable experience in Bodrum, where our first classes took place while learning to sail. It was such a remarkable start that it felt as though we had known each other for years. That experience alone would be a reason to join this program.
As the courses progressed, we got to know one another better. Our class brings together professionals from a wide range of industries and backgrounds, creating an exceptional environment for communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. Learning from each other’s professional experiences has been an education in itself. We discovered that every challenge can be approached from different perspectives and solved in different ways.
The curriculum covered many of the topics directly related to my professional responsibilities. Courses on management and human resources addressed issues that are fundamental across every industry. Interactive classroom activities helped us fully understand the concepts while making the learning process both engaging and enjoyable.
At the end of each module, we worked on group projects and presented our findings to our classmates. We spent many hours preparing for these presentations, and although they were challenging, the knowledge and experience we gained were far more valuable than any grade.
The economics courses enabled us to better understand the causes and consequences of major global crises and to relate them to today’s economic environment. Throughout the program, we had the privilege of learning from distinguished academics as well as accomplished professionals from the business world. Courses in finance, law, and marketing introduced us to the latest knowledge, technologies, and global best practices.
More than simply providing knowledge, the Executive MBA places great emphasis on developing effective communication skills, leadership, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility. Every class became a unique opportunity to combine theory with practical experience, making each session both rewarding and memorable.
There is no doubt that this program has had a positive impact on every participant’s professional life and will continue to contribute significantly to our careers.
